The new Deutsche Bahn office building "Lister Dreieck" in Hannover’s central train station district certainly lives up to its name. Built on a triangular site, this building with its traditional clay brick façade is anything but traditional.
The triangular theme continues in the breathtaking triangular shaped atrium. This courtyard roofing is a natural communication hub spot that can equally be used as an event space to be enjoyed by the individual offices. Walkway bridges suspended from the supporting steelwork structure connect the different sides of the building.
Four triangular ETFE cushions are arranged to form a large triangular atrium that spans the courtyard. The translucent ETFE foil cushions with three layers of foil were installed by Temme // Obermeier. The upper layer of foil is printed with a subtle silver print to reduce solar gain. See and click on our film clip here to view the translucent ETFE foil cushion roof.
Temme // Obermeier is proud to have delivered this light-filled atrium roof with very exacting structural requirements on behalf of the Deutsche Bahn!
