Project

As a landmark, the earth station of Raisting has already decorated stamps; its air-supported hall, the radome, represents an impressive masterpiece of technology. In 2010,Temme // Obermeier were commissioned to renovate the dilapidated envelope. For this, they produced a PVC/PES membrane design. During a spectacular operation the membrane was hoisted over antenna 1, lowered and tightened. The new protective skin has provided a significant transformation to Raistings radome – from a landmark of technical revolution to an impressive industrial memorial.
